HEARTH TO HEARTH

Our purpose is to spread the practice of cultivating the home altar, to make your home a temple, a sacred space. Traditionally the hearth is the center of the home and keeping the flame going in the hearth was essential when it was the only source of heat and cooked every meal. The ancient Greeks called the hearth Hestia, the Romans, Vesta, the Scythians, Tabiti, the Irish, Brigid, the Norse, Frigg. She takes the first and the last offerings, from the first splash of the cooking pot before the meal is served, to the last resting place for the ancestors. Our candles are made in our home at our hearth all by hand. It is common practice for communities to have a central hearth from which each family hearth is lit, symbolizing unity between each home. We wish to be that central gathering place and to spark the flame from hearth to hearth.
