HEARTH TO HEARTH

We are dedicated to making the home a temple through idols, images, scents, ritual objects and ideas. What is inward is expressed outwardly. To treat the space in front of you as significant is to treat your life the same. Traditionally the hearth is the center of the home and keeping the flame going in the hearth was essential when it was the only source of heat and cooked every meal. The ancient Greeks called the hearth Hestia, the Romans, Vesta, the Scythians, Tabiti, the Irish, Brigid, the Norse, Frigg. She takes the first and the last offerings, from the first splash of the cooking pot before the meal is served, to the last resting place for the ancestors. Our candles are made in our home at our hearth all by hand with the intention of honoring the home and where we come from. It is an ancient practice for communities to have a central hearth from which each family hearth is lit. Each candle, each home, stands on their own but are united in a flame that comes from the same source. We wish to be a conduit for that source, and to spark the flame from hearth to hearth.
